Frequently asked questions

Where does DatenUS Business get its data?
Company profiles, filings and financials come from SEC EDGAR. Bank data comes from the FDIC BankFind Suite. Trucking companies come from the FMCSA Company Census File. Business counts, new business applications and bankruptcy counts come from the Census Bureau and the U.S. Courts.
How current are the SEC filings?
Company filing lists are refreshed in rotation through the day, so a new filing usually appears within a few hours. The SEC's own EDGAR system is always the most current source.
Are the financial figures audited?
Annual figures come from the XBRL data companies attach to their 10-K, 20-F and 40-F reports. They are the numbers the company reported, including later restatements, and are not adjusted by DatenUS. Check the filing itself before you rely on a number.
Is this investment advice?
No. DatenUS Business republishes public records for general information. It is not investment, credit or legal advice.
